Memories 2006...

Today I woke up early to help Mekenzie prepare her talk today on Baptism.
I was going back to the Summer of July 2006, I remember what a beautiful day that was. Although a little hectic and crazy at first it was more than words can't describe.

That morning Kenzie and her Grama went to church and when they asked Bishop Mendoza if everything was ready for that day, Bishop Mendoza looked a little puzzled. He then remembered that is was Mekenzies Baptism day. He said that there was no way we were going to be able to have it that day. Kenzie called me in tears and I was upset because Grama was here for this special event, and her time to go back was soon and we could not do this any other day.

After everyone pulling strings to do what we could to get her baptised, a wonderful person came up to my mom and said to here that he had overheard what was going on and that he would be pleased to have us all over at his house and we could get Kenzie baptised. We asked him how and he said that many missionary's would use his hot tub for baptisms and it had been so long since he had something special like a Baptism at hos house, he love to offer this to us. It meant so much to us to have this be offered and so we said OK. We had allot of our family there with such a beautiful setting. What more could we want. birds chirping, animals in sight. a beautiful what was going to be a sunset and a hill that was next to us where Brigham Young claimed a vision from God directed him to lead his people into the Salt Lake Valley. It is said that Young recognized Ensign Peak as a prominent landmark in his vision, confirming his statement: "This is the right place."

Brother Peterson house has the most incredible view of Ensign Peak he had us all look during a baptism, wow just remembering this day, I got chills. I know just like Brigham young did , that this was the right place to have her baptism. . His wife had refreshments out and and greeted us with such love. I could not have asked for anything more Amazing.

I remember all of this too! What a neat memory for Kenz to have for her entire life. I mean I'm sure we all remember our baptism but her's is so unique she'll remember all the details of the whole day for years to come. Brought tears to my eyes and gave me the chills reading it to :)
